MTSU Recycling

MTSU Recycles advances the University’s commitment to manage resources sustainably, strengthen community, and cultivate partnerships with the following as its main emphasis areas: 

• Promoting and implementing the 4R’s of waste reduction, Rethink, Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle to promote sustainable resource management. 

• Support campus recycling efforts to reduce landfill waste, working to maintain and improve existing services 

• Collaborate with campus partners and vendors to identify opportunities for expanding recycling services, where feasible, to improve diversion rates and operational performance 

• Promote campus-wide awareness of recycling opportunities by providing clear, accessible information on accepted materials and best practices—encouraging participation, shared responsibility, and informed decisions to foster civic engagement and environmental consciousness
