Engineering Services
The Engineering Services department delivers engineering consultation and design functions to the University with the following as its main areas of emphasis:
- Maintaining campus engineering standards: Ensuring that all in-house construction, renovation projects, and new campus facilities meet established engineering guidelines throughout the design process.
- Conducting on-site technical assessments: Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and directing repair or replacement efforts for mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, life safety, and security systems (including chillers, boilers, lighting, HVAC, elevators, and generators).
- Managing access control and security systems: Overseeing campus-wide key and access coordination in alignment with the annual University calendar.
- Leading the Center for Energy and Sustainability (CES): Overseeing the development and implementation of energy-efficient protocols, programs, and projects across campus.
- Documenting underground utility infrastructure: Using detection hardware and software to map and record major utilities for future construction and renovation planning.
